I have an 84 TC, the engine was turned off for about 5 years, now Im trying to make this engine works, when I disconect the SPOUT cable (Pin 36 verified), and set the timing to 12 degrees (in advance), then I shut of the engine and connect the SPOUT cable again, turn on the engine, and the timing stills at 12 degrees (in advance), isnt suposed to be in the range of 20`s or 30`s in advance ???, I think this is giving me some problems, is it a bad TFI ??? a bad Distributor ??? Please Help !!!
Run the codes, and let us know what comes up. I think the timing will stay in the SPOUT out range if there are computer problems, but I don't know what specific problems would cause that to happen. Is it possible that the connection is so dirty/oil-covered that a good connection isn't being made?

Hope this helps.

over all invested $2500,
It seems that I dont have any special spout conenctor, what can I do ???, can I buy this connector anywhere ???, does it have any OEM number ??? How can I order one ???

BTW Walsted I dont have a code scanner.

Thanks a lot for your help...
A code scanner (or the method outlined in the tech articles) is very helpful, and highly recommended. Troubleshooting is a lot easier with a code scanner, and one will pay for itself in no time, especially if you just bought the few parts in the tech articles section. An EEC-IV scanner only cost me about $30 or so from Pep Boys (I think; it's been awhile).

Good luck.
