Need some info on some basic stuff I can do to this head since I have it out. I dont have specific tools for any of this but some insight on what I can do with the valves etc to clean them up, they look pretty bad.
You can chuckk the valves in a drill motor, in a vice and use some medium light grade emory cloth to clean up the stems and the front and rear faces. Stay away from the actual seat area. Then use fine grad and you can achieve a near polished finish.

There are plenty of past post about porting, both technique and tools required.
Thanks alot for the tips. I have another question. Ive been trying to find some pics of the stock cam and followers because I want to know if they are stock or not. The followers have a roller in them, but I dont know if thats stock. Thanks
Well, went and looked at the cam again. Turns out its an A237, which would explain why its so slow off the start. I just keep getting more and more surprises on the goody list with this thing....
If it's got roller followers, it is not the stock cam for a 2.3T.

An A 237 is a roller, little weak down low, comes alive strong above 3K
