Hey all, [email protected] sent me an email stating that the 83-86 TC Specs page listed the trans type wrong, that it should be a C3 - 3 speed.

I'm not doubting this info, I just to verify that this is correct and if there was an optional trans available so I can correct the Specs page.

Thanks for the input.
Nate, I'm looking at a 1984 Turbocoupe sales brochure and a 1985 Tbird sales brochure and both list the "SelectShift" automatic as the optional auto for Turbocoupes. I plead ignorance as to what the SelectShift is.

No need to plead, submission is noted.

Seriously though, thanks for the input, I will note it on the specs page.
I am pretty sure they did have a C3 auto tranny.

The SelectShift name was a gereric name used for all the pass car trannys from the late 60s thru the mid 80s. Both the old C4 and C6 trannys were called by the SelectShift name, as were the POS C3 and C5 trannys.

Trivia question: Any of you guys remember those wounderful FMX and Ford-O-Matic auto trannys?

Jeff, I sort of remember the FMX and Ford-O-Matic names. Wasn't one of those the original 2 spd auto?

Nate- My 84 XR7 had the C-3 in it until it became a T-5. The C-5 wasn't used on the 4 cyls.

Jeff and Pete...my 62 Merc has the Merc-o-matic 2 spd auto in it.....
