I have an 88 TC.. I have a right rear caliper bracket with a snapped pin jammed inside, and a good left rear caliper bracket. They look totally identical except that when I hold them the same way, one has a little flat area on the bottom with "RH" stamped in it, and the other has the flat area on top, stamped with "LH".
I bolted up the LH bracket on the right side just to see why it wouldn't work, and I can't figure it out! The pads fit inside perfectly and are right on the rotors where they should be, the caliper bolts up fine, I can't see anywhere that it would interfere.. What gives? I'm hesitant to put it back together and actually drive it since I can't help but think they stamped them LH and RH for a good reason! Would it work OK as is?
The reason I'm asking is because I can't find a caliper bracket in a JY or parts store. I called an out of town Ford dealer (the local one is closed), and they want ****$400**** for one.
