I am thinking about doing the roller cam swap into my 88 TC and was wondering if the swap gives you any noticeable (seat of the pants) gain in power and if one might also get better gas mileage with the roller cam as well.

No seat of the pants power noticed from me.
The torque curve might have changed a bit but not really any power difference.
I would conclude it is a good mod "IF" you need a cam but mine didn't at the time of switch.
I also had to buy the whole friggin ranger head so it was a bit disappointing
for me compared to other mods I've done.
