as some of you have rea din the past i have the wonderful problem of parking brake being froze on. this owuld be no big deal if my driveway wasnt on an incline, and that i park on the incline. so i have the wonderful issue of haveing to ride about 2miles every mornign it freezes with my parkign brake on, this is taering up my rear brakes and i belive now the differntial limited slip clutches.,

but this is what i was "pondering"
ponding can be good or bad for me, you know, hit or miss.
i was lookign at pictures of mark VII rear brakes, they appear to have parking brake shoes? im guessing, i have never seen them personally.

now i want to do a 5 lug conversion, not for the wheel issue, but for the ability to upgrade to real brakes with twin psitons forn calipers, and bigger single pistons rears.
my buddy Nate (manson) has his 88 sport with 13 cobras front and 12in rears, and its unbelivable.
but he did te sn95 swap, i just want the simpel markVII swap

so my question is, woudl i resolve this issue im having now by swaping to 5 lug, or am i asking for more issues?
i have rotors (used) and claipers for fornt already
i just need to go get the rears, and a set of rims.
so is this a hit, or far miss?
wooo hoooo, i have a friend!!

anyway, if you want a first hand look theirs a mark7 that i took the rear ebrake cables off of last week at LaPallo's. if you talking about putting in new calipers in the back, that should fix the problem (unless the cables are seized) only because your replacing whats sticking. if you just want to fix the ebrake issue without spending alot, you may just be able to play with the tension on the cables or the springs.

That's a funny one Brian. Don't ever leave the door open for me Bud, cause I'm gonna take it every time. Most of your ideas are off the wall, except when it comes to cars, when your dead on. I take it your planning on using the Weld wheels off the Ranger?
I did the Mark VII front and rear and the rears did not have the shoes for parking brake. The do connect differently with the cable. I have not that that part sorted out yet thought. I think I got these from an '86.
hmm, maybe a crown victoria set up may work???
agianm im hit or miss

tony, im off the wall literally, look at the truck i bought

Nate (manson) i repalced the right side already nd i think they are both lockign up, both my cars do it, and both have brand new cabels, and it started when i repalced the seized cables, long story, it was worht a shot
well go'n down the line, if the cables have been replaced and the same problem exists, then i would assume it's the caliper. im one for takeing it appart and finding out whats wrong, but if they get replaced, then sence its the last thing it should fix it. maybe the piston got some rust in em and they dont screw in anymore? if so, maybe a disassembly and cleaning would fix them. or just a thorough lubeing, lube fixes everything Big Grin
