Do our engine computers use the Transmission for speed Data, i.e. if I have a 3.55 speedo gear and run 3.73's will I run Rich? (computer thinks I'm doing 77mph instead of 70?) Does the computer get its engine temperature from the same sensor as the temperature gauge? Mine is an 86 Turbo Coupe with an 86 intake and PE computer.
Thanks for the input!
Mike C
No, the speedo gear in the tranny and the gearing has nothing to do with air/fuel mixture. The sending unit for your temp gauge is located to the rear of the motor, below the lower intake, drivers side. The ECT sensor is located in the middle of the lower intake, on top, between runners 2 & 3. The ECT is the sensor that 'talks' to the computer.
Thanks

hey mike ever install those subframe connectors?

god i finally got mine started and running a couple weeks ago for the first time in 9-months and drove it from my shop to my apartment, and gosh I can feel the difference in handling and everything, feels great i love it!!!
They are sitting in the basement next to the Motorsport A arms,13" cobras, Koni red struts Eibach springs and M&M caster Camber plates.
The engine has slowed me down a bit, but I am finished under hood and I am ready for the chassis.
I want to get them in before it goes to the body shop. Did you do pictures, or give me the low down on the install!

I still need the rotors for the front and hoses all around. The spindles are in the mail so it should be getting done shortly.

Thanks for asking,
Mike C.
