I removied my struts this morning. I ordered (Moog K8640) strut mounts from rockauto.com, they do not match the stock strut mounts in any way.

The Moog K8640 Has the upper part and 3 bushings.

The ones removed from my car has an upper and lower part and several bushings, also the upper part looks like it was pressed.

What gives, wrong mounts ? are they supposed to be different, I went through the factroy manuals and the hayes manuals and did not see any info to help me out.

Thanks
John K
Well, what keeps them from mounting? They are supposed to be designed different.
I was trying to put it together the way it came apart. I figured it out and got it together with my dad. The PRC actuator did not fit properly so I used a washer. Sounds like I should not be doind suspension :p
Keep us posted how it goes. I have to do mine as well.

Yea rub it in why dont ya Big Grin
The different design had me a bit confused. The strut mounts came with very vague instructions and no diagram, I figured it out and got the car all together. It was an easy job once I had it all figured out. The steering is nice and crisp again, instead of "jerky" and no more clunks.
did you still need the washer for the ride control like you said?
I needed to space the PRC controllers up about 1/8" or so with washers after I did mine several years ago.... no big deal. I forget the part #, but I used the Moog part listed for the TC.
Sorry couldn't resist Big Grin
Don't forget to have your alignment checked!
