I got a 3" full exhaust with a magnaflow and 3" stinger tail. Its a passenger side exhaust that came off a fellow members TC that got scrapped. Its all installed and hung pretty much perfectly, but the big problem is its jammed between the gas tank and the tire. I stupidly drove the car not noticing the problem and rubbed a good part of the inner edge of the tire right off.

Im running stock size tires on snowflakes. He ran 245/45/17's on tribar mustang wheels with spacers.

Am I going to have to get spacers or is there something else I can do? Did any of you 3" exhaust guys have to do anything special?
I have no first hand experience with this situation, but my brother did. When we were having the 3" exhaust put on his bird, we noticed the lack of space between the tire and tank just like you have discovered. As a fix, we decided to dump the exhaust before the axle. Saved time, money, and space beneath the car. The only trade off was the louder hummmmm from the exhaust note, but some people like that. Also, we didn't already have the entire kit out the back like you do. Just a thought!
Dumping is out of the question. Ive ran dumps before. First on my dual superturbos, nauseating. I also ran the car with this 3" without the tail for about 100 miles. It was bad, worse than open downpipe. Gotta have the tail.

He showed me pics of when he first had the exhaust put on his car. It looks like its hanging a lot lower than mine, so that may be it.
My first attempt was a passenger side 3". I could never get it where and how I wanted it. I ended up putting an ATR 3" exhaust on the drivers side.
He has 1" spacers. 1" spacers with a mustang wheel push the wheels out a good bit.

The issue is, there aren't any good, bolt on 4-lug spacers anymore
My 3" Stinger tail rubs the axle...very annoying. I think it is because I didn't cut the mid section short enough when I originally put the exhaust on - one of these days I'll try to cut it shorter and see if that fixes the problem...

I have never been very impressed with that tail pipe. no matter what I do I can't seem to get it to fit right.
I just dont believe our cars were made to accommodate such a large tail pipe.
