Seems I am getting no heat on my 87 tc. I have the eviro control system. The temp light stays constant at first in the control readout, then it starts to flash after the car has been running a short while. I get hardly any heat at all from the system. Any Ideas? I have searched arounf the site for an answer, but came up with nothing except the blender door perhaps? How do I check that? Thanks.
Have you checked the basics like coolant level and thermostat? Do you have hot coolant flowing in and out of the heater core?
have you run the self test on the system? I believe the procedure is in the Tech Articles or FAQs section
Yeah I have Keith. Coolant level is full and thermostat seems to be working fine.
Maybe try the cardboard in front of the radiator trick. It works on both my vehicles.
I am printing out the temp unit codes from the faq section and will see what that comes up with.
btw , what is the cardboard trick? Just curious .
put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiatorstopping the flow of cold air through the radiator
If you need cardboard the you need a new or different thermostat or you need to move to a more tropical climate Big Grin Cardboard sounds pretty getto!
my heat sucks as well. I have done praticly everything to no avail. guess i will "ghetto rig" a 12v heater in there LOL
